AreaAnnotator: a MicroStation Application

AreaAnnotator™ CONNECT Edition is an AddIn or App that adds functionality to Bentley Systems MicroStation^® CONNECT. It's a tool for architects, engineers, planners and technicians.

AreaAnnotator facilitates annotatation of areas

AreaAnnotator provides its own set of MicroStation key-in commands. They become active after you have loaded AreaAnnotator. Those commands can be used to start actions by AreaAnnotator.

The MicroStation key-in to start AreaAnnotator is

AREA TAG SINGLE	Tag a single shape	Attaches Item Types data and adds a text label
AREA TAG EDIT	Edit a tagged shape's Item Types data and update its text label
AREA TAG REMOVE	Removes Item Types data and deletes label
AREA TAG QUERY	Query a shape for its data	Read but don't modify AreaAnnotator data
AREA TAG PROPERTY property name, new value	Modify only the specified value	Works with Fences and Selection Sets

Bulk Action Commands
Command	Effect	Comment
AREA TAG MULTI	Tag multiple shapes	Pops the Tag Multiple dialog. Attaches Item Types and labels to multiple shapes on a specified level
AREA ALIGN	Move each label relative to its host	Position depends on the justification setting

AREA SET TEXTSTYLE	Set the Text Style used to create labels
AREA SET JUSTIFICATION	Set the justification used to create labels
AREA SET ACCURACY	Set the decimal accuracy when composing an area label	Default is two decimal places
AREA SET FLAG PROPERTY	Include the named property in a label	Default is on
AREA SET FLAG AUTOLABEL	Automatically label each DGN element	Default is on
AREA SET FLAG INCREMENT	Auto-increment the ID Item	Default is on
AREA SET DELTA	Set the ID increment delta (Δ)	If Δ equals 2, for example, then Room 101 → Room 103. Default is Δ = 1
AREA SET LEVEL	Set the level name used to create labels
AREA SET AREADECORATOR	Set the units decorator used as a suffix to area measurement	Units2, Square Units or Units²
